Solving the Challenges of 12V Power and Space: 210Ah Slimline Lithium Batteries

When full-time tourers discuss the biggest challenges of traveling the country, 12V power and space often top the list. The 210Ah Slimline Lithium Batteries are designed to tackle both issues head-on.

Housed in a narrow 50mm heavy-duty aluminium case, these batteries are perfect for mounting behind the rear seats in a 4×4 cab or on the wall of a canopy, freeing up valuable space for other gear. With the flexibility to mount in any orientation and eight included brackets, these batteries offer versatile installation options.

Built with high-quality aluminium-encased prismatic cells, the 210Ah battery weighs just 25kg and boasts excellent vibration resistance, making it ideal for cross-country trips. With a full 210Ah of usable power, it's perfect for running 12V fridges, lighting, and pumps, and even has the capacity to power larger appliances.

Equipped with an advanced internal Battery Management System (BMS), this battery supports a 250A continuous discharge, allowing it to power up to 2500W through an inverter. This means it can easily run 240V appliances like coffee machines, toasters, and induction cooktops without a hitch—something previously unattainable in a battery of this size. Additionally, the BMS allows for parallel or series connection with up to four other batteries, creating larger battery banks of up to 840Ah or systems up to 48V.

These batteries are certified to some of the most stringent safety and performance standards, fully tested and certified by an internationally renowned lab, and backed by a comprehensive 5-year warranty.

Certified for Performance and Safety

Hardkorr lithium batteries meet all required and optional international standards for performance and safety, including:

  • UN 38.3: Safety testing for lithium metal/lithium-ion batteries in transport.
  • IEC 62133-2:2017: Safety testing for portable lithium batteries under intended use and reasonably foreseeable misuse, including vibration testing.
  • IEC 62619:2022: Safety standards for lithium batteries in industrial use.

The manufacturing facility is also certified to:

  • ISO 9001: Quality management systems.
  • ISO 14001: Environmental management systems.

Bluetooth® Monitoring App

This battery allows for easy monitoring of key data via Bluetooth® connection, accessible through the Hardkorr Battery app available on iOS® and Android® devices. The app provides:

  • Key Information: State of charge, current voltage, available capacity, status, and health.
  • Detailed Information: Current voltage, net current in/out, status, cycle life, and temperature.
  • Cell Status: Voltage of each cell to ensure they are balanced.
  • Contact Details: Quick access to Hardkorr’s website, address, and email for support.

The app also logs any instances where a BMS protection circuit is activated, including over-charge, over-discharge, under-voltage, over-current, and over-temperature.

More Usable Power, Longer Life

Understanding the difference between nominal and C20 capacity is crucial when comparing batteries. The C20 rating represents the number of amps a battery can deliver over 20 hours, providing a realistic measure of performance. Hardkorr values transparency and always quotes the C20 rating, ensuring you receive the accurate and reliable power you expect.

Why Upgrade to Lithium?

  • Long Cycle Life: Lasts up to 10x longer than Sealed Lead Acid (SLA) batteries.
  • More Usable Capacity: Safely use up to 80% of capacity, and 99% in emergencies (versus 50%/70% for SLA).
  • Fast Charging: Charges up to four times faster than equivalent AGM batteries.
  • Lightweight: Approximately half the weight of equivalent SLA batteries.
  • Environmentally Friendly: Non-toxic, acid-free, and can be installed in any orientation.

Convenient Remote Reset Switch

The Battery Management System (BMS) in these lithium batteries includes a protection circuit that activates if the voltage drops below 10.0V, putting the battery into 'sleep' mode. Resetting this circuit used to be a challenge, but the included remote reset switch provides an easy solution. Simply connect the switch to the socket on the battery and hold the button for 5 seconds to reset the over-discharge circuit. The switch can also be flush-mounted into your 12V setup for added convenience.
